The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises seven non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes are members of the Leibniz Association.
WIAS invites applications for a
Research Assistant position (f/m/d)
in the Research Group
“Numerical Mathematics and Scientific Computing”
(Head: Prof. Dr. V. John) starting at the earliest possible date.
The applicant should perform active research in the numerical analysis of discretizations of partial differential equations from fluid dynamics, electro chemistry or semiconductor electronics. Corresponding publications should be available. Expected are the participation in the software development of the group as well as the support of projects from applications in collaboration with partners from WIAS or outside.
A university diploma or master degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline as well as a PhD degree are required.

The appointment is initially limited for three years. The salary is according to the German TVoeD Bund scale.
