WIAS invites applications for a
PhD student position (f/m/d)

in the Leibniz Junior Research Group
“Numerics for innovative semiconductor devices”
(Head: Dr. Patricio Farrell) starting as soon as possible.
The aim of the position is to work on numerical discretization methods for partial differential equations (finite volume methods), in particular in the context of semiconductor applications. Laser applications are of particular interest.
A Master's degree in (applied) mathematics or a related field is required for the position. English language skills and proficiency in at least one programming language are expected. Experience with teamwork, prior knowledge in the semiconductor field, and interest in applied interdisciplinary research are desirable.

The appointment is initially limited for three years. The reduced work schedule is 29,25 hours per week (75%), and the salary is according to the German TVoeD Bund scale.
