Laser Dynamics

(Head: Dr. U. Bandelow) to be filled at the earliest possible date.

The position is associated with the DFG research project:

Underlying nonlinear science of hybrid SOA-fiber laser systems with feedback

within the DFG-RSF Cooperation programme: Possibility for Joint German-Russian Project Proposals in all Fields of Science.

Field of work: The research will concern the mathematical modeling of SOA-fiber laser systems and conducted in close collaboration with Prof. Sergei Turitsyn (Aston Univ.) and Prof. Guillaume Huyet (Instutut de Physique de Nice).

Wanted: The successful candidate will have completed PhD degree in theoretical physics, have good knowledge of laser physics, nonlinear optics and nonlinear dynamics, as well as experience in the numerical and asymptotic bifurcation analysis of distributed laser systems. The candidate will be also familiar with the existing software tools for numerical bifurcation analysis of such systems.
